Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is an Romanian actress and television presenter. Her most well-known work is the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. Alexandra Maria Lara was born as the sole child of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. When she was 16, Alexandra played the leading character in various television dramas. In the Oscar nominated film Downfall the role she played as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudljunge was also highly praised. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also nominated for Oscars. Alexandra is known for her involvement in many important projects in both the US as well as internationally. The projects include British biographical film Control as well as The Dust of Time as along with the French historical miniseries Napoleon. The actress also served on the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
