Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actor and TV host. She's best known as the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. Alexandra was the only child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16she already secured a number of TV roles which included the leading role in the Downfall film Youth Without Youth Control. Following her critically-acclaimed character in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. This film won an Oscar and won critical and commercial great success. The other Oscar nominated film starring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra is well known for her involvement in many notable projects, both in the United States and internationally. Among others, these projects include the British biographical films, the British Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. In addition, she has been an adjudicator at the Transylvania International Film Festival as in at the Cannes Film Festival.

Alexandra Maria Lara was born as the sole child of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. When she was 16, Alexandra played the leading character in various television dramas.
